Comprehensive fringe programmes to provide valuable learning experiences

‘Thermotec 2017, the 7th International Exhibition on Industrial Furnace, Thermal Technology, Equipment and Material’ is going to be held in nearly a month starting from 19 – 21 July, 2017 at the Tokyo Big Sight East hall 4.

Thermotec is the largest and the only show in the field of industrial furnaces and related technology in Japan. Since its launch in 1993, the show has been held every four years, gaining strong industry recognition for providing an indispensable business platform in the industry. Entering its seventh edition, the show hosts 190 exhibitors (Japan 164, Overseas 26) from 13 countries covering the latest products and technologies in the industry. Based on the successful outcome of the previous edition held in 2013, 19 companies are increasing its booth size and the show is fully booked earlier than before.

Comprehensive fringe programmes to provide valuable learning experiences

More than just a trade platform, Thermotec also provides valuable learning experiences through comprehensive fringe programmes. This includes keynote lectures led by industry leaders, exhibitor presentations and “Academic presentations”. Under the theme of “Thermal Technologies for the Environment and Future”, the show is inviting Takao Kashiwagi, Distinguished Professor / Emeritus Professor and Director of the International Research Centre of Advanced Energy Systems for Sustainability at Tokyo Institute of Technology Institute of Innovative Research. He will be leading a lecture titled “Vision of the thermal industry with regards to Japan’s energy policy”. Also at a special seminar titled “Environmental consideration of iron and steel industry”, Hideki Murakami, Executive Officer and Head of Process Research Laboratories at Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corporation, will be presenting his company’s top-class environmentally friendly case studies and efforts. Both sessions are to become a source of idea to find where the industry will be heading in terms of the inevitable environmental issues. (The sessions are held in Japanese only)

As well as the keynote lectures and seminars, exhibitor presentations are to be held throughout the three days. The series of presentations led by leading companies have been highly regarded for being a source of information of the latest market trends. For detailed programmes, please refer to our website: http://thermotec.jp.messefrankfurt.com/tokyo/en/visitors/events.html

The popular ‘Academic Corner’ is to become a place for academic-industrial collaboration. Research centres and universities gather from all parts of Japan to present their latest research outcome. Progress and findings will also be presented through the “Academic Presentation” held everyday. The presentations are 20 minutes per slot, offering a great opportunity for the visitors to obtain input on the latest technology efficiently. (The sessions are held in Japanese only)

Consulting booths will appear at the fairground to solve various issues in the industry. Staffs from The Japan Society for Heating Treatment and Japan Metal Heat Treatment Association will be present at a booth to provide market trend information and advice related to heat processing between 11:00 - 13:00 and 14:00 - 16:00 during the three-day show. In addition, members of the Japan Industrial Furnace Manufacturers Association will be ready with any information regarding thermal technology and the association’s activities at the organizer’s booth. In the previous edition, many visitors approached the booths for business and research solutions and the coming show will again prepare with the complimentary services that can contribute to the industry.
